Valentine's Day craez: i just got through the worst thanksgiving/ christmas/ new year's of my entire life. my ex's birthday is on the 31st of this month. he'll be celebrating, no doubt, with the girl he was cheating on me with. in addition, valentine's day crap is all over the freakin' place! it makes me want to PUKE right here right now thinking about him lavishing love and gifts on this new girl so soon after our breakup. i literally haven't been able to sleep or eat for days. days! i just feel so sick! *barf* i'm not a jedi knight! i can't control my own mind! i've enrolled in fighting classes and go religiously. i've been throwing myself out there....going salsa dancing, clubbing, you name it! but when i lie down at night and there's nobody there but me a my childhood stuffed animal FeFe La Femme, i can't keep the thoughts of my cheating ex all happy and in love with his new gf while i'm lying there crying myself to sleep. AND i wake up for n reason at all in the wee hours of the morning right where i left off and can't go back to sleep. anyway, i'm DREADING both his birthday AND valentine's day. does anybody want to be my pretend boyfriend and send me flowers at work? (i'll send you some!) *sigh* didn't think so....i'm so f-ing depressed.
Re:Valentine's Day althebrokenman: Hey Craez, Take it ez
You will get over this, screw him, you do not need him, no one needs someone who has treated another as he has treated you. There is no benefit to care for someone who no longer cares for us.
If it makes you feel better I'll send something over to you for V-day
You will get over this and will be such a better and stronger and more confident person which are the qualities in women that drive men nuts. Just hang in there

Re:Valentine's Day incoherentlonghorn: Your post made me remember those first holidays or significant days that where I was in shoes similar to yours. Sleepless months, lack of appetite...What I can say is they won't last forever. I know it feels like the pain won't fade, but the pain will lessen!
Just some ideas for grins. On the brighter side, you have a multiple options on those days:
1. Plan girls night out at the least romantic sight ever (like Fudruckers).
2. Lock yourself/ves in and watch horror movies. I opted to do this with Jack Daniels.
3. Think of ways to pamper yourself all evening. YOU DESERVE IT. Bubbles, wine, Ms. Pacman, 4 star food to go, a good book, a good run, bath and bodyworks. I used this in conjunction with 2. You can now spend all that dough on YOU!!!
BIG HUGS and best of luck!

Re:Valentine's Day LostTeacher: my ex's b-day is the day before this dreaded day, so am trying to figure out something to do. hard, though, because most of my friends are either married or in relationships. one friend, though, is due with her baby on that day, so am hoping that she will have it very close, gives me something other than him to think about. and if not, i am going to just totally focus on myself. that's something that you should do, find things that you enjoy just to take your mind off it. oh, and avoid those isles that have the valentine's stuff out, like, jan 1st.
