He tells me that he wants us to see each other again, but to "keep in on the down low". WTF? I figure that if you love someone, you shouldn't care what other people think. Like his family for instance, they hate me for things that I have never done and my EX has said a world of crap to them. Think that might be why?
What about when he comes to town? Should I ask him bluntly what he wants to do because, I love him and he is the father of my child after all. If he could straighten up I would be more than happy to give it a second chance, but how can I find out without being heartbroken? I can't hang on and I haven't been, but I would like to know what he wants to do so that I can either get on with it or just continue to stay away.

Re:Now I need ya'lls advice sheydp: Go for it - ask him straight out! Like I said, it will take a lot of talking, if he can't do that, you know there is no chance, it will be easier to move on. If he can talk about it (even if he can't explain it or make you happy with the answers) you will know more. Better to know, one way or the other.

I don't know if he was telling me all this because he is sitting in California and the brand new truck I bought him is broken down and he is just thinking about things and possibly he's lonely? I just don't know. I guess time will tell. I just need to keep my balls (well, if I had some) lol. Thanks so much guys!
