IS this Okay? kessandu: okay so I am getting a divorce and i know its over so I want to get on with my life ;D but I dont want to hurt my ex :-[ so in saying that here is my question Is it okay for me to hangout with my male friend even though my ex and I just decided to call it quites ( he did cheat on me) are should there be more time before I hang out i just dont want to be disrespectful to my ex when we have a child together and want to remain friends ???

Its a personal decision, but I would say once the cheat has gone on, all bets are off. In some states however dating during the separation can be considered adultery even if the other spouse did it already... Depends if u have to go thru a separation period before divorce. I am in NC USA and we have a year separation period. The reason why it is a problem is that the sep period is suppose to be a reconcialition period. However for me that wasn't the case...

Re:IS this Okay? sheydp: Hang out, yes, more than hang out, no. Not just for your ex's sake, but for your possible future relationship. Don't lose your friend because he is the "rebound-guy"! If something is going to happen, it will, but for now try getting over the ups and downs of divorce, being alone, and co-parenting apart before trying to get something real started...
