Bummed Sman: well, I am bummed big time. I am not seeing the woman I had been dating for the past 4 months. I know 4 months is not a long time but it is long enough to start to have feelings. I liked her alot, she just didn't have those same feelings for me right now and just wanted to do things only for herself. She said that she was being selfish for her.
Dating sucks half the time and then when you do meet someone nice and then this happens, oh well...I am going to miss her, hopefully we can still remain friends. I think we can, I have done it before.
So, how soon do you start up a conversation or just want to go out with that person has friends???? after everything that has happened up to the breaking up point.

I left the door open for her but I don't know if she will walk through it anytime in the future and I might not be available if she does walk through it again.

Don't try to be friends with her. You just had sex with her, you still have feelings for her, and you think you can be friends? No. In fact, if you tell her that then you are done. I told the girl I've been dating for 6 months when she tried to play me that the friendship thing just isn't going to fly. You tell them either your her lover, or nothing at all. There is no in between. See if you are her friend, then she won't miss talking to you. If she doesn't miss talking to you then she will never want to date you again. If you allow her to see you as friend she is having her cake and eating it too. No. No. Don't go that route. Trust me.
