Boyfriends/Girlfriends ChristyM: Ok Ojarians ... I was thinking about this the other day. At what point do you consider the person you are dating your boyfriend/girlfriend? Is it after so many dates? Is it when you don't want to date anyone else? When do you start to refer to them as your bf/gf, especially around them? What do you think?
Christy
Re:Boyfriends/Girlfriends jason: I think it must be different for every couple out there. For Melissa and I, it happened pretty quickly; I know that has not always been the case in my life before. Maybe sometime after you have met the family ???? I never usually took someone home to meet the parents unless I was relatively serious about them...come to that, I never told my parents about anyone with whom I did not have at least a degree of seriousness about.
Good question......

Re:Boyfriends/Girlfriends Eyelo: Christy~
Good question. And a tough one. I guess, for me, when mutual exclusivity sets in, the relationship becomes BF/GF. Before that, it is just a "friend" or "someone i am dating" or "someone that i am seeing".
What are you calling your guy at this point?
Eyelo.
(Edited for early morning grammar - sheesh.)
(Haha and spelling!)
Re:Boyfriends/Girlfriends timetobefree: Good question. I guess I consider a guy my bf when I don't want to date anyone else. Otherwise, they are "guys I am seeing" or something along those lines. The referring to him as such around him...well, I just made sure to not refer to him as that until we were both on the same page as to where we stood! :)
On a side note (hope you don't consider this hijacking!), but I feel like I am 13 again, calling T my bf. We were joking about it and I said I was going to call him my "manfriend"! LOL I realize this sounds worse than bf, but seriously, is it just me? I feel too old to have a bf! Any other terms out there? I guess I could call him my SO. I don't know--it just all seems strange. Maybe it is because I had a husband and now I am "back" to a bf. Anyhow, sorry for hijacking, but since it is related... ;D
Take care!
Amy :)
Re:Boyfriends/Girlfriends Shanna: Frideon and I had trouble with this one ...still do once in a while. Still seems odd to have a bf after having a husband ::) We didn't know what to call ourselves so we just kinda grew into it months into the relationship.
So basically I don't know.
