Can't use "partner" any more. The gays have pretty much appropriated that one. Along with, come to think of it, the word "gay" itself. What, the rest of us are miserable? LOL!

Re:Boyfriends/Girlfriends AlexInVirginia: Why don't we just call them by their names?
"Hi, Alex, this is Jenna."
"Hi, mom, I want you to meet Jeff."
Shouldn't we try to encourage our individuality anyway?
Then, if they ask the uncomfortable question ... "Are you guys (together, boyfriend/girlfriend,seeing each other)?" Then you can answer, "Yes."
Or, just grab their privates and everyone around you will figure it out.
Re:Boyfriends/Girlfriends tara: My mother has started calling my, um, BF (hey, it's a quick abbreviation) my "special friend." Eew.
'Course, she recently went on a little fishing expedition, trying to bait me into telling her whether the new guy has money or not. My response? "He's not going to freeload off of me; beyond that, it's none of my business, let alone yours. Can't you just lecture me about the fact that he and I both technically committing adultery or something?" (I was proud.)

LOL! That's how I refer to Nwhen I mention her to my regular, un-special friends. I mean, we haven't actually *met* yet, so "girlfriend" doesn't seem to suit. But she is indeed quite special to me....
Yaaaaaayy! :D
