Feel Too Bad Butterflygirl: I have met a great guy and we have been talking for a few months now. He has wanted to date-date from the start. He is really awesome and I could totally see a future with him. THE PROBLEM:
I am so so so afaraid of my ex being unable to handle it. Although I love my ex with all my heart I was the one who always protected him and made things better for him. We are still really good friends but do to the screw ups on his part we are not together. He is truly sorry for what he did to me (ie. cheating) but I am no longer in love with him.
He often cries and I can't take it. He is still in between houses and has much of his stuff here. He is truly sorry and I DO NOT want to hurt him- but I do want to move on.
Please help. ::) ANY suggestions would be appreciated.

My 2 cents: go for the new guy but don't rub it in your ex's face. Date the new guy and enjoy moving on - you deserve some happiness. Keep your experiences with him to yourself though. Your ex made his choice and it's good that he is sorry but the damage is done and can't be undone. You need to do what's right for you. And if this new guy can bring some joy and happiness into your life why shouldn't you pursue it? Have fun and see what happens.
And when you have to deal with the ex, don't bring up how great things are. Talk about the weather or (whatever small talk you need to) while he's getting his things out of your place.
Don't give the ex false hope of repairing the damage if it's over and you're not in love with him but don't rub salt in his wounds since he feels remorseful.
