Re:Well, it's been a week.... gumby55555: Yeah, it's those little reminders (well, in this case, a HUGE one) that really take you down, especially in the early days. I'm so sorry it made you break down but you've got the right attitude since you're taking it in stride! There'll definitely be up days and down days but, as long as you keep moving forward, you inevitably come out the other side! Keep on hanging in there! :)
Re:Well, it's been a week.... CoryL: Ricci,

A week after the relationship ended you went into a Hallmark store BEFORE Valentine's Day, heard your song on the radio and had an emotional moment.

Think about it this way...

You had the strength in the first place to walk into a store filled with memories AND Valentine's Day stuff. That is a big step that takes some SERIOUS willpower.

You are stronger than you think.

Keep your head up.

It makes me sad to walk away from a relationship that was so great and has meant so much to me, but I guess maybe it was never real. So thats it, I'm getting stronger every day, and more confident...[/quote">

Wow.....

So many people come on here, looking for advice.
"How do I let go?"
"Will I ever get over this?"
"Can I ever stop loving the person who..."
"Will I ever be ready to move on?"

And this thread answers them all.
You're going to be just fine, r7, just fine. You honor your time together, your hurt over your loss, and you look ahead to what remains of your life. Sounds as healthy an approach to recovering from destroyed relationships could ever sound.

I, for one, will reference the spirit in this thread for a long time to come - it is the spirit of moving forward, and not allowing the past to hold us down.... even with the roller coaster ride a few hours later. :)

may everyone experience this feeling,
walt
Re:Well, it's been a week.... Chase: Anybody else found that the rollercoaster includes highs that are like a veil being lifted? The downs suck, the nothings suck, but I feel like the last few years I've been on a kids rollercoaster, and now I'm on the big one, and sometimes (rarely, sure) it is almost exhilerating. Sometimes things are clearer than they've been in ages.

Re:Well, it's been a week.... r7: Thanks everybody for responding. I have a question for ya'll. These things that were so important to us, special songs, places, movies, memories. I know that it will get easier. But, do you ever get to the point where you can listen to those songs and not get sad? Just wondering.

Thanks, Ricci
