Re:OK, so now my STBX has "daughters?" betteroffalso: I got one for ya Tara, My stbx left me and our 3 yr old daughter and 9 month old son and moved in with his girlfriend and her 3 kids. About 3 weeks after hes been there, I called him for something and his GF's 6 yr old daughter answered the phone, I asked to speak with *****, she said hold on, then she yelled.."Dad, the phones for you"..I was shocked! He hates responsibility..I guess he was just trying to impress his GF. This really bothered our daughter though when she would visit him b/c she didnt understand why another girl was calling her daddy dad. She would even say in her little prayers "please help that girl at daddys house to not call him dad" ...broke my heart!
He ended up having another baby girl with his GF 10 mos later!
More power to them! For a guy that hates responsibility, he doesnt know how to stop having kids!
Re:OK, so now my STBX has "daughters?" raistlynne: Oh gawd, what a nightmare!!! :o I'm on the other side of the page (I have no kids but new bf has some)... In my experience, I've (thankfully) gotten along great with his kids, to the point where one of them called me mom a two weeks ago. Needless to say, I panicked.
As good as we get along, I made it clear in a very nice way that no, I was not their *mom* but I did want to be their friend. They have a mom (she's the custodial parent), and I just don't think it's right for me or anyone to just take advantage of a child's confusion about the role of their parent's new partner. I don't know if I'll ever have kids (health reasons), but it doesn't make it right for me to just assume someone else's motherly role like that. At least in my book. Maybe if she wasn't in the picture I would feel a little different, though, but I know for sure I'd at least have to be married before I would be comfortable with that situation.
Just my two cents.

It's like a daddy wading pool where he can dip his toes in without getting all wet. It's like daddy diet coke, all the taste and just one calorie. It's like...okay, you get the idea!
