Re:Soulmates - Existence? ChristyM: Hmmm ... this has been brought up on this board before and I should really go back and find that thread and post what I did then. BUT, I'm too lazy to do that and my feelings might have changed anyway so ....

I used to believe in soulmates. I couldn't even fathom anyone else being so suitable for me than what my ex was. Now after being divorced I feel differently. I feel there are a lot of people out there that are perfectly capable of loving me, helping me to be a better person and in general, "completing" me. I define a soulmate as someone that is almost an extension of myself. Because our lives are not static but continually changing situations, it is unrealistic to think there is one person out there that will meet that definition of soulmate throughout your entire life. By having that viewpoint I think a lot of people limit themselves and also make it harder on themselves when a relationship doesn't work out.

im sure there is someone out there for me. even 100k from 6 billion is still a lot.

i used to really believe that no matter how bad i felt, things would always work out for me. and they did. everything has always worked out eventually for me. im sure love will as well. just hope it doesnt drag its feet

Like they always say...it will happen when it's suppose to happen...give it time and be patient. Right now enjoy yourself and what being alone is like. Since we are talking about soulmates...I suggest you do some soulsearching...I bought a book on it and it's amazing. I finding things out about myself that I never knew. You are alone right now for a reason it's up to you and only you to take full advantage of this time...you can if you chose too. So you don't have somebody right now...you do have yourself...right? :)

I would like to think that if it is the right person, then you can grow and change together.

Phyxius - like your posts. always something to think on
