Re:that's fair? isn't it? tossed: call me an a$$hole but Id tell her that her craps on the porch have at it before the garbage man does.
ok maybe Im not being helpful. sorry man. hang in there.
Re:that's fair? isn't it? Bocephus: If it's just a couple of boxes of stuff, I would say jsut pack it and ship it COD. It's one of those things that's just easy enough. My absent wife has lots and lots of stuff here. If she were to ask for a few things I would have no problem sending them, given my situation. I guess it really depends on the situation and totality of the cirumstances. If there was another man in the equation and that's how I was wronged, her stuff would be out in the street right now in the rain. I don't know really. I'm getting ready to send mine her ssn card because she got hired at a business out of state. sad really. She asked for her big stuffed animal dog i got her from FAO Shwartz during our honeymoon, and I told her the dog likes me more and doesn't want to see her right now. I guess that is mean. I was half kidding with her even though I do sleep with that damn thing, shhh don't tell anybody!
Re:that's fair? isn't it? teacherwriterguy: Best suggestion I had all day:
Send her a giant box marked "clothes" and pack one, single sock in it.
I'm not a cruel guy (honest), but that one made me chuckle.
Still waiting to hear from her family if they are going to come pack anything this weekend. If not, I'll probably end up doing at least a box or two of clothes.

Re:that's fair? isn't it? heavyheart: I would NOT send her stuff. She may twist it later on and say that you forced her out of the house and packed her bags for her. I was in a similar situation - he left and left a lot of things behind. I decided not to touch his things, just to stay on the safe side. When the ex is in this weird frame of mind, there's no telling what stunts they will pull! Also, refrain from doing anything vindictive. Stay true to who you are in all of this - let her do all the crazy stuff.
Re:that's fair? isn't it? teacherwriterguy: Ahh well... the family didn't come through on her end. So, gullible me, I did pack a box of the clothes.
Does anyone else associate clothes with memories? That's half the reason I wasn't terribly interested in doing it. As you go through the closet, you think, "I remember when we bought that... I remember the date she wore that on..." And so on and so on. Made for a maudlin hour or so.
And then, just to frustrate me, the UPS store wasn't open today - being Sunday. So, here I'm all organized and on top of things and I couldn't finish the darn job. Now the box is sitting there looking at me - all box-like and obtuse.
So, I declared the rest of the day "mental cleaning/packing" day for me. Amongst my various adventures:
-Joined a gym and did first work out!
-Bought new comforter and sheets (it's MY bed now, darn it. It should look like my bed.)
-Grabbed a new book to read from Borders.
Even one workout in - to all those people who suggest that going to a gym relieves negative emotions/thoughts: I absolutely agree. Too tired atm to think negatively! *pant pant*
