Moving upward in a huge way RecoveringinDE: Thanks to you know who!
Well, tonight the ex needed to come over for this years and last years W2's so he can make copies to get approval for the house he and the OW bought. We were just talking about a few things and he was ready to leave. So, I asked if she was out in the car. He was hesitant but said yes she was.
So, I asked my daughter if she wanted to go and see XXXXX. She said yes. So, she got her shoes on, we got our coats on and out we went. I stayed on the sidewalk in front of the car as my daughter was in there talking to X. I was just watching to see how they interacted. It seemed to be ok. X would not look at me. My ex thanked me for letting daughter come out to say hi.
Well, my daughter runs back to me and I swing her up into my arms. All of a sudden she says, "I have money!" Well, that stopped my ex from shutting the car door and he was just looking at us. So, I walked over to the car door. Yep, within striking distance *grin* But I resisted! lol. Nah, was actually not even tempted. So, I explained how daughter put the money in the cash machine at the self checkout and she took the change and said "My change!" All three of us actually laughed and my daughter buried her head into my neck and laughed too. It made me happy to know that I made her happy doing something that is small to her, but huge for me.
I for awhile was feeling like I was just numb, in denial or moving on. I couldn't figure out which. I felt like I was just emotionless. But, the fact of the matter is, he is no longer a major part of my life. He will always be there because of our daughter and so will the OW. I decided to do this at this time because I felt ready and I wanted to do it on my terms. Not theirs. I am moving on and I am proud of myself.
*lifts a glass and salutes to moving forward*
