I suppose I understand the situation now. I don't know. I don't think it's morally wrong, but I'm not sure it's going to get you the end results that you want?
For one reason, he does know about it, so if he really wants to pursue some form of cheating, he'll be aware and do it in a different way.
Then again, I think after infidelity (even online infidelity) that it's the right of the person who was cheated on to set some rules and boundaries, if the relationship is to be fixed. Maybe it's enough that he adhere to that rule/guideline of yours to start earning some trust back...
