As for the dress and all my pictures, etc, they are now officially gathering dust in my attic. I'll deal with them later when I feel better. I may just have a ritual burning of it at my divorce shower...
Re: so now what do i do with it? grober: This may sound weird, but I still have the wedding dress. My X seems to have no interest in taking it. In fact, she avoided the subject every time I brought it up.
Maybe I'm not ready to let go of some of the memories attached to it, but I just can't throw it away. It is in a garment bag in an upstairs closet where I guess it will stay for a while. I just don't know what to do with it.
My X was sure to take the rings. She left them with me during our separation, then came and got them with some other stuff while I was at the office.
I don't know what she has done with them.

For me, my wedding ring came from the pawn shop, and back it will go. Only in a different state. LIke, menatlly and geographically! As for the wedding dress, I think I will eventually have a burning ceremony. Like a "new found freedom" ceremony with a few close friends of mine when I am feeling stronger. I will burn it and dance! Fortunately for me, my husband and I, at the time, were too poor for an actual wedding ceremony, so we went to city hall while we were living in NYC. I have a few pictures my freinds took, but not like your traditional ceremony at all. I"ve been looking at them and having crying fits. I am putting them, and all of the pictures of us together, in a big box and letting it collect dust when I get in my new place. He doesn't deserve my time and energy right now - I do!!!
