So, is it because:
(1) Smart women are less likely to *want* to marry?
(2) Smart women (like most women) want to "marry up," and the smart men are already taken, since they don't mind "marrying down" somewhat?
(3) For every 16 points in IQ, a woman becomes 40% more condescending, controlling, or obnoxious in general (possibly subconsciously as a test to weed out men who aren't up to their intellectual standards)?

And I have to confess I sometimes look at some of my married women friends and wonder how they can put up with some of the stuff they put up with, when they're clearly intelligent women. Heck, I've thought that about myself!
