Re:Our self concept clambakesX: Another aspect of self-awareness where I have a lot of progress to make is figuring out how I feel in a given moment. This a.m. as I was on my way out the door, my flatmate said I looked sad. Sad? I wasn't in touch with those feelings at that moment. Anyone else been through this?
Re:Our self concept jen: Medusa~

That's something that I have been working on a lot lately, too.

Feeling in touch with my emotions has been different for me since the separation. When I look back, I can see that I was sad and very frustrated with a lot of things in the marriage, but wasn't connecting with those feelings. Then, after the separation I was completely flooded by emotions and I was suddenly in touch all the time. Now, that has calmed down and I have to try to be more conscious of my emotions - check in with myself and ask myself questions about how I am feeling (when I remember). And, then I am often surprised by how I am feeling in reaction to something...or someone will comment that I look like I am feeling a certain way and I haven't thought about it or connected with it yet...

weird sometimes...
