I understand the feeling of loss and memories cause you to want to hold on to hope that your H might come back. But as I get older I am starting to truly realize that labels shouldn't matter. What should matter is that they love and respect you and WANT a life with you. Legally or not. Your H sound slike he is cruel, unconcerned with your well-being and disrespectful. Please take care of you. Divorces can cost just a few hundred dollars, but definitely not all. Completecase.com is an EXCELLENT site for this. It has been feastured by CNN, CBS, and NBC and shows you sample forms and rules for each state as well as allows you to download (cost is $249) every form you will need, for your state, to divorce, with or without kids, alimony, child support, etc. Then you just pay the court filing fees. Expenses can come from selling houses, moving, etc of course.
Keep your head up and dig deep and do what you want to do that benefits you and your children.

Re:Should I apply for a divorce? AmyMarie1972: Cant stop listening to it now. On its tenth run through and starting to sing along. Lucky you all can't hear me, I'm a terrible singer. Should send a copy of it along with the divorce papers. ;D ;D ;D
Re:Should I apply for a divorce? Lumpy: Dear AmyMarie,
Hmmm...Why wouldn't he want a divorce? Howzabout court ordered child/spousal support, having an estranged wife who still cooks and makes doctors' appts for him, the possibility that you may get most of the property, etc, etc. He does not realize the gravity of his situation. I think you should file. Maybe being served with papers is the wake up call this jerk needs. Stay Sane.
